(“SPP”), collectively referred to as “Strand”, provide insurance premium finance services to businesses and individuals.  SIFC is licensed by, and provides services in, the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Illinois, North Carolina and South Carolina.  SPP is licensed by, and provides services in, the state of New York.  Strand is headquartered in Morganville, New Jersey, United States of America, and makes its website(s), agent portal, client online payment and service portal, mobile app(s), telephony and pay-by-phone system and all other similar electronically-based services and functions, collectively the “Services”, available for use by its clients, prospective clients, business associates, agencies and associated users, and the public at large.

Strand (or “we” or “us” or “our”) has created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to user privacy and online data security, and to communicate its online information gathering, use and dissemination practices for you, the individual(s) and/or business users (“You” or “Your”) of the Services.

Strand reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without any obligation or prior notice, to change, modify, delete or amend the Services and/or this Privacy Policy, or any referenced policy, at any time.  Continued use of the Services, including after any such changes have been posted, shall constitute Your agreement to such changes.

In the case of use of the Services by insurance agents, insurance agencies or their designated representatives, You acknowledge that by providing information on behalf of a client or another user, You represent and warrant that You have been given express permission to do so from that person.

How the Information is Used

Strand uses the information collected from You to provide the Services, respond to You regarding the reason You contacted us and to provide, maintain, protect and improve our services, programs and activities, to develop new ones and protect Strand, its affiliates, partners and visitors and clients.  We may also use this information to offer You tailored content. We don’t sell any of Your information to any third party.

When You contact Strand, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues You might be facing.  We may use Your email address or other contact information to keep You informed about our services, such as letting You know about upcoming news, changes or improvements.  With your prior consent, we may also use Your email address to allow our partners to offer other financing services to You.  We impose firm limits on how our partners can use the data we provide and all such usage must be in accordance with applicable law.

We may use information collected from cookies and other technologies, like pixel tags, to improve Your user experience and the overall quality of our services.

Strand processes personal information on servers located in the United States (“US”) and/or Canada.

If You are a non-US user of the Services, know that by utilizing features of the Services and providing Strand with personal data, You acknowledge and agree that Your personal data may be processed for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy.  In addition, Your personal data may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries, including the US, where laws regarding the processing of personal data may be less stringent than or otherwise differ from the laws of the country in which You reside or are located when using our services.  By providing Your personal data, You consent to such transfers.

Children’s Privacy

The Services provided by Strand are not directed at children or minors under the age of 13.  We operate the Services in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13.  However, we will accept, store and use data on minors as part of the contact information that is required in order to provide the underlying or associated services.  You consent to the use of Your minor children’s information when You input the information into our system.  However, we may request the parent’s consent in any way the law allows.  For example, if the child’s personal information will be used only by us, we may also ask for the parent’s consent by email.  If the child’s personal information will be shared with a third party, we may verify that the person providing consent is the parent by asking for proof of the relationship.  Parents have the option to consent to the collection and use of their children’s information without consenting to the disclosure of that information to third parties, except to the extent that disclosure of such information is a necessary part of the activity for which parental consent is given.

In the case of use of the Services by insurance agents, insurance agencies or their designated representatives, You acknowledge that you will not use the services to transmit, collect, store or otherwise process personally identifiable information from anyone under 13.

Exceptions

Strand’s obligations under this Privacy Policy do not apply to any information or data that:

  • was known to the Strand prior to its gaining access to the information or data;
  • is or becomes entirely in the public domain;
  • is not uniquely identifiable as Yours (i.e., personally identifiable information);
  • received lawfully from a third party through no breach of any obligation of confidentiality owed to You; and/or
  • created by Strand independently of its access to, or use of, Your personal information.

Security

Strand has put in place industry-appropriate electronic, physical and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access to data, maintain data security and ensure the correct use of the information it collects.  Despite these measures, Strand can’t guarantee the security of information from hackers, ransomware, data breaches or misuse by others who are unauthorized.
